The Role

Based in Buderim and reporting into the Project Controls team, you’ll own the financial performance reporting function across the Program – building dashboards, producing reports for senior stakeholders and governance groups, and managing monthly cash flow processes in close collaboration with the regional Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and produce project financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including dashboards and financial reporting tools
• Provide financial analysis, variance explanations, trend reporting and financial position summaries to senior management and governance groups
• Manage the monthly cash flow process in partnership with the regional Finance Team
• Work within SAP and Oracle Primavera Unifier (3PCM) to ensure financial records are reconciled and compliant with departmental policies
• Collaborate effectively with Program and Project team members and stakeholders
• Contribute as a senior member of the Project Controls team

Requirements

About You

• CPA qualified and/or tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or business administration (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, monitoring and reporting within a government environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including PowerBI for financial dashboard development
• SAP experience highly regarded
• Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and work both autonomously and as part of a team

About The Company

Public Sector People is partnering with a Queensland State Government Department to recruit an AO7 Principal Advisor (Finance) for one of Queensland’s most exciting infrastructure programs – a landmark metro and interchange upgrade being delivered in direct support of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
The program will deliver a high-frequency, high-capacity metro-style service connecting the Sunshine Coast Airport, Mountain Creek, and the Maroochydore CBD. You’ll be embedded in an integrated Program Delivery and Operations team, playing a key role in keeping this major project on track financially.
