Brisbane Olympics Uniform Distribution Jobs: Roles & Pay

Before the first spectator enters a stadium, tens of thousands of staff and volunteers must be outfitted. The Uniform Distribution and Accreditation Centre (UDAC) is the massive logistical hub where the “look of the Games” comes to life. Working here means you are responsible for ensuring every workforce member—from security to medical staff—receives their official kit and credentials.

What These Jobs Involve

Uniform distribution is a high-volume retail and logistics operation that requires speed, organization, and a friendly touch.

  • Assisting with Daily Operational Tasks: This includes managing “fitting rooms” to help staff find the correct sizes, processing kit pick-ups via digital scanning systems, and performing inventory counts to track thousands of garments.
  • Supporting Teams and Contractors: You will work alongside apparel manufacturers and logistics contractors to manage the arrival of bulk shipments. You’ll also coordinate with the Accreditation team to ensure that staff receive their security badges at the same time they get their uniforms.
  • Ensuring Smooth Event Delivery: By maintaining an organized and efficient flow within the UDAC, you ensure that the workforce is ready and “on-brand” well before the Opening Ceremony.

Requirements & Skills

This role is perfect for those with a background in retail, fashion logistics, or high-volume customer service.

  • Reliable and Punctual: The UDAC operates on a strict appointment schedule. If distribution falls behind, it can delay the training and deployment of thousands of staff members across South East Queensland.
  • Good Communication Skills: You’ll be interacting with a diverse workforce. You need to be patient, helpful, and able to explain uniform care or replacement policies clearly to international volunteers and local staff alike.
  • Relevant Licences: While most roles are general, having a Forklift Ticket (LF) is highly valuable for moving pallets of stock in the warehouse area. Familiarity with Inventory Management Systems or retail POS software is a significant advantage.

How to Get Started

Beyond the paycheck, the professional growth is immense:

• Apply through relevant companies: Don’t just look at the airport itself. Apply with ground handling agencies (like Qantas Ground Services, dnata, or Menzies), security firms, and retail groups.
• Prepare a resume: Highlight any experience in high-pressure environments, customer service, or logistics.
• Monitor job boards and opportunities: Set up alerts on the official Brisbane 2032 portals.

Pay & Conditions

• $25–$45 per hour depending on role
• Shift work including nights/weekends
• Mostly temporary contracts
