Carlile Swim is launching an exciting new Competitive Pathway Program in Queensland, designed to support talented young swimmers as they transition from Learn to Swim into competitive swimming.

We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Competitive Pathways Coordinator to help establish and lead this program across our Brisbane swim schools.

This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on coaching, swimmer development, pathway leadership and relationship building within one of Australia’s most respected aquatic organisations.

About the Programs:

Otters Squad

A development squad designed for younger swimmers showing strong potential and interest in extending their swimming journey.

Competitive Transition Squad (CTS)

A transition squad supporting swimmers interested in progressing toward competitive swimming environments and club pathways.

These programs are designed to complement and support existing competitive swimming pathways, including partnership opportunities with Chandler Swimming Club.

Key Responsibilities

About the Role:

As the Competitive Pathways Coordinator, you will:

Work within a system already producing technically efficient young swimmers

Establish and coach our new Otters and Competitive Transition Squad (CTS) programs

Support swimmer progression from Learn to Swim into competitive swimming pathways

Coach and mentor young swimmers across multiple Brisbane locations

Mentor CTS and Otters coaches

Work closely with families, swim school leadership teams and pathway partners

Attend swim meets and support swimmers within competition environments

Assist in developing and growing Carlile Swim Queensland’s competitive pathway offering

This role may involve a combination of before and after school coaching sessions, with some weekend swim meet attendance required.

Requirements

About You:
You are a passionate swim coach who enjoys developing young swimmers and creating positive team environments.
You will ideally bring:
• Previous squad coaching experience
• Strong understanding of swimmer development pathways
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Confidence working with children and families
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Current CPR and Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or willingness to obtain
Experience within competitive swimming or club environments will be highly regarded.
