Job Description

EDQ plays a critical role in unlocking land for housing supply both in Priority Development Areas (PDAs) and on surplus Government land. The Development Services division within EDQ enables new housing, commercial and mixed-use development across Queensland through planning, development approvals and a significant infrastructure funding program.

Key Responsibilities

Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of engineering infrastructure investigations, planning, development assessment, development approval and compliance. In the role of Engineer, with supervision and guidance from senior engineering colleagues, you will:

Provide specialist development engineering advice on planning and development proposals identifying the infrastructure requirements and providing engineering infrastructure planning services to facilitate positive outcomes.
Provide specialist advice in the management of development applications and the delivery of infrastructure associated with development projects in accordance with statutory requirements.
Proactively manage projects or elements of projects with supervision.
Prepare professional written information, interpretations, briefings, presentations and reports.
Participate in communication and negotiation strategies to assist in stakeholder engagement processes.
Implement business process improvements relevant to work practices and strive for continuous improvement in systems and processes.
Work with colleagues within own area of expertise to promote team knowledge.
Collaborate with colleagues in multidisciplinary teams and communities of practice.

Requirements

Success in this role requires:

A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
Experience in the development and/or infrastructure industry.
An ability to provide considered advice, guidance and direction on development engineering challenges.
Applied analytical and research skills with an ability to prepare reports and briefing notes.
Possession of a collaborative, customer centric and outcome focused work ethic.
Developed interpersonal and communication skills.
