We are seeking a National Discipline Director based in our Brisbane office to lead the growth and performance of our civil business across Australia.

Our Civil team works at the forefront of major infrastructure delivery across Australia’s most demanding markets. From the rail corridors of Melbourne to the renewable hubs of regional Queensland, from coastal transport networks to urban growth precincts, we influence outcomes on projects with lasting national impact. With a strong pipeline of secured work and growing demand across Australia, we are looking for a senior leader to step into a high-impact role with responsibility for growth, delivery and market positioning at a national scale.

Working closely with Practice Directors and the broader ADG / AtkinsRéalis senior stakeholder network, you will shape the future direction of the civil business and position ADG for the major opportunities ahead, including the once-in-a-generation infrastructure pipeline emerging across Brisbane and South East Queensland as Australia prepares for its Olympic moment in 2032.

Key Responsibilities

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for:

• Lead regional growth, with accountability for pipeline, revenue, and client development
• Build and maintain senior relationships across the Australian market and Tier 1/ Tier 2 civil contractors
• Develop and execute a regional business plan aligned to national strategy
• Provide technical oversight and governance on complex infrastructure projects
• Identify and pursue major opportunities, leveraging AtkinsRéalis global capability
• Mentor and develop engineers across the Australian business
• Represent ADG in the market, strengthening brand and positioning

Requirements

You are a credible and commercially minded civil engineering leader with a strong market presence.

You will bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Chartered status (CPEng)
20+ years’ experience delivering and leading civil engineering outcomes with a strong personal brand, already established in the TMR sector.
Proven in depth experience in building, scaling, and leading high-performing teams
Demonstrated success winning work and growing infrastructure business
Established relationships across the Australian market, including strong relationships across SEQ local government
Strong commercial, negotiation, and influencing capability
Experience operating at a senior leadership level, shaping strategy and outcomes
Deep technical capability with experience in governance and risk oversight
