Principal Project Officer

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure program that will shape Queensland’s future. Working within the Games Infrastructure (Venues and Villages) division, you will support transaction activities, project controls and delivery assurance processes that underpin the successful delivery of the Athlete Villages. You will collaborate with government agencies, Brisbane 2032, delivery partners and private sector stakeholders to ensure projects are effectively managed, risks are monitored, and governance requirements are met.

As part of a connected and high-performing team, you will contribute to complex infrastructure projects that will provide long-term housing and community outcomes while supporting a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Key Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
– Project manage State requirements relating to the planning, development and delivery of the Athlete Villages, including scheduling, coordination, reporting and governance activities.
– Support project and program controls including milestone tracking, change management, risk management and performance reporting.
– Contribute to delivery assurance processes to monitor progress and ensure contractual and governance requirements are achieved.
– Coordinate with government agencies, Brisbane 2032 and delivery partners to align governance arrangements, village requirements and legacy outcomes.
– Prepare briefings, submissions, strategic advice and other documentation to support government approvals and decision-making.
– Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships across government, industry, sporting organisations and business groups.
– Represent the division in meetings, forums and interagency discussions as required.
