What These Jobs Involve
Ticketing is about more than just scanning a code; it’s about managing the flow of the world’s biggest crowd.
Assisting with Daily Operational Tasks: This includes managing “Box Office” inquiries, troubleshooting digital ticket issues on smartphones, and verifying concessions or credentials at the gates.
Supporting Teams and Contractors: You will work closely with venue security and digital systems contractors to ensure that scanners are functioning and that any system outages are bypassed quickly.
Ensuring Smooth Event Delivery: By managing queue lines and providing “Wayfinding” assistance, you help ensure that spectators reach their seats before the starting gun fires, preventing bottlenecks at the stadium turnstiles.
Requirements & Skills
Because you are the “face” of the Games, a friendly and professional demeanor is the most important asset.
Reliable and Punctual: Gate opening times are non-negotiable. You must be on-site and briefed before the thousands of spectators arrive for the morning sessions.
Good Communication Skills: You’ll need to explain entry requirements clearly and handle high-pressure situations with a calm, helpful attitude—especially when fans are excited or confused.
Relevant Licences: While most roles don’t require heavy machinery, a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is often necessary. Familiarity with mobile POS (Point of Sale) systems or digital wallet technology is a major plus.
