Brisbane Olympics Ticketing Jobs: Entry Level Roles Explained

As the first point of contact for fans entering the venues, the Ticketing Team ensures the world gets to their seats. With millions of digital and physical tickets expected to be processed across South East Queensland, these entry-level roles are vital for a secure and high-energy atmosphere.

What These Jobs Involve

Ticketing is about more than just scanning a code; it’s about managing the flow of the world’s biggest crowd.

  • Assisting with Daily Operational Tasks: This includes managing “Box Office” inquiries, troubleshooting digital ticket issues on smartphones, and verifying concessions or credentials at the gates.

  • Supporting Teams and Contractors: You will work closely with venue security and digital systems contractors to ensure that scanners are functioning and that any system outages are bypassed quickly.

  • Ensuring Smooth Event Delivery: By managing queue lines and providing “Wayfinding” assistance, you help ensure that spectators reach their seats before the starting gun fires, preventing bottlenecks at the stadium turnstiles.

Requirements & Skills

Because you are the “face” of the Games, a friendly and professional demeanor is the most important asset.

  • Reliable and Punctual: Gate opening times are non-negotiable. You must be on-site and briefed before the thousands of spectators arrive for the morning sessions.

  • Good Communication Skills: You’ll need to explain entry requirements clearly and handle high-pressure situations with a calm, helpful attitude—especially when fans are excited or confused.

  • Relevant Licences: While most roles don’t require heavy machinery, a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is often necessary. Familiarity with mobile POS (Point of Sale) systems or digital wallet technology is a major plus.

How to Get Started

Beyond the paycheck, the professional growth is immense:

• Apply through relevant companies: Don’t just look at the airport itself. Apply with ground handling agencies (like Qantas Ground Services, dnata, or Menzies), security firms, and retail groups.
• Prepare a resume: Highlight any experience in high-pressure environments, customer service, or logistics.
• Monitor job boards and opportunities: Set up alerts on the official Brisbane 2032 portals.

Pay & Conditions

• $25–$45 per hour depending on role
• Shift work including nights/weekends
