We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Coordinator to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering operational excellence across AV, lighting, rigging, and staging systems at our venue. This position is central to ensuring seamless event execution while contributing to strategic planning, innovation, and leadership within our technical operations team.
As the Technical Operations Coordinator, you will manage venue infrastructure, liaise with touring crews and production managers, and step into leadership duties when required. This is a dynamic role for a proactive professional who thrives in high-pressure environments and is passionate about live events.
- Manage and maintain all venue technical systems (AV, lighting, rigging, staging infrastructure).
- Coordinate technical requirements for events with touring crews, production managers, and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues swiftly to minimise downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate AutoCAD illustrations of venue infrastructure.
- Collaborate with production teams to adapt touring specifications into venue compatible layouts.
- Support capital works and infrastructure upgrades with detailed technical drawings.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Supervise technical staff and contractors during event setup and breakdown.
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams and senior management.
- Assist with budgeting, procurement, and vendor management.
- Contribute to long-term planning for technical upgrades and innovation.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for operational improvements.
- Step into leadership duties during the Technical Manager’s absence or high pressure events.
- Maintain full safety awareness, promptly report incidents, manage emergencies, and ensure secure, hazard-free work areas.

ABOUT THE VENUE
Built by the Brisbane City Council as a world class multipurpose facility, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre formed part of Brisbane’s bid for the 1992 Olympic Games. The Centre has been operated since its inception by Legends Global (formerly ASM Global and AEG Ogden Brisbane Pty Ltd). Ownership was transferred to Stadiums Queensland (formerly Major Sports Facilities Authority) from 1 July 2002.
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre has hosted a diverse range of events including Monster Trucks, Supercross, Circuses, Bull Riding, Concerts, Conventions, School Speech Nights, Ice Spectaculars, Wrestling and Boxing.
Primarily recognised as a venue to host concerts, family shows and sporting events, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre also specialises in staging corporate events in particular conferences, seminars, product launches and gala banquets.
